An entry for the VCDC Worm II, a project/game where people create images that follow each other in an a seamless row; a sort of linear mosaic. You can see it here: [link] -- and the (longer and also very impressive) Worm I here: [link]

I wanted to make something that could stand alone as a composition and at the same time have a visual continuity with the previous (and next) images. It was an enjoyable process. I also used some photographic elements in making it; the base of the spiral (before it was painted over), the upper wall texture, and the splashing liquid at the bottom (again, both painted over in parts). It's been a long time since I last did that and it reminded me of my old photomanipulating days... perhaps I'll be able to incorporate this technique in future works again.
